While our house is too far inset in the woods to attract trick-or-treaters, I still had to get a pumpkin this year. When you first cut open the top and that fresh pumpkin scent lifts into your nose it's like 25 years of pumpkin carving nostalgia. Tonight I have no plans, other than to light my jack-o-lantern on the table next to me, watch Halloween movies from my childhood, drink tea, and work on a cross stitch. Outside it is cold and damp and my evening is perfectly cozy.
